From Deep Ellum to Plano, McKinney and Cedar Park, not.travis makes murals that belong to the place around them and to the people who pass through.
XOXO Social Club / Dallas / Mural by not.travis
In public
Made to be encountered.
A wall takes on a life beyond the day it is painted. It enters daily routes, a stranger's photograph and the memory of a place. This record brings together not.travis murals, rooms and the people who have stood in front of them.
Public work changes with the surface. At District 121 the image is overhead. Elsewhere a portrait fills a stair wall, and a gym becomes a field of color.
04 / McKinney, Texas / outdoor installation
District 121
At District 121 in McKinney, painted color spans a canopy above the public walkway. The work changes as people move beneath it, with the structure and daylight becoming part of the view. The studio archive documents the overhead installation; Dallas Observer names the site among not.travis public projects. View the District 121 archive record.
05 / interior mural
Jackie Robinson
A portrait across a stair wall. Photographed in the studio project archive.
06 / interior mural
EOS Fitness
A painted pattern across the gym wall. Photographed in the studio project archive.

Deep Ellum, Dallas / 42 Murals / Documented wall
Steve McQueen
A portrait of Steve McQueen on a motorcycle, painted by not.travis in the former Easy Slider courtyard. The mural belongs to the 42 Murals period in Deep Ellum, Dallas. View the Steve McQueen mural.
not.travis painted Impressions of Texas at SpringHill Suites by Marriott, 1110 Discovery Boulevard in Cedar Park. A longhorn carries the Texas flag through a scene with bluebonnets and a sunset. The wall also carries the Golden Rule: “Treat others as you want to be treated.” Its subject meets travelers at a hotel rather than inside a gallery. The Cedar Park art guide names the mural and site; the hotel photo gallery records the setting. View Impressions of Texas.
Dallas / interior venue mural
Green Light Social
Studio photographs document not.travis work inside Green Light Social in Dallas: a portrait crossed by red marks on a dark interior surface. The painting is encountered as people move through the room, rather than from a single viewing point. Dallas Observer names Green Light Social alongside XOXO, Backyard and the original Citizen. The exact street number and the year of this wall are still being confirmed against the studio record.
San Marcos, Texas / VIP stairwell mural
The Marc
At The Marc in San Marcos, not.travis made a hand-painted mural for the VIP stairwell. The work belongs to a passage: people see it while entering, climbing and turning through the venue. The venue design record credits the mural and documents the site. The year and a photograph cleared for use on this site still need confirmation.
2017 / Ghana / collaborative mural workshops
Project Ghana
In 2017, not.travis worked with young participants at Challenging Heights in Ghana through Beauty for Freedom. The program describes mural workshops in which participants helped design and create the work. The wall preserves the marks, words and ideas of those young makers alongside not.travis's guidance. Read Beauty for Freedom’s program record. View Project Ghana.

Beyond the studio archive
Other people's view.
Photographs and reporting made by visitors and writers show how these walls live in public. The links open the original publication, where the images and credits stay with their makers.
The project record identifies documented sites, including XOXO Social Club in Dallas, Black Sheep Coffee in Plano and Impressions of Texas in Cedar Park. Check venue access before visiting. The Deep Ellum crown wall at 2633 Main Street was demolished, and photographs preserve its history.
Does the Crown wall still exist?
The wall is gone. Photographs, coverage and its history remain on Cella as CELLA-30.
Does the studio consider mural commissions outside Dallas?
Yes. The studio is in Dallas. Projects are considered across Texas, the United States and abroad by conversation about the site.
